200 rounds at same target

I really don't think I'd ever done that before this morning. Here's a picture of the result.

My club has been running the NRA Defensive Pistol 1 course on Sunday mornings and today I was able to slip out there and participate. It only took about an hour for three of us to move through all of the marksmanship ranks and emerge as Distinguished Experts. All of the shooting was from 21 feet.

I had one get away from me – you can see it at almost the 8 o'clock position. When that happens, you have to shoot the whole stage (10 rounds) over again. It was the same thing that frequently happens to me on the trip field. I get complacent because the objective is so "easy" and I momentarily lose my focus, and that's all it takes. I don't know how many should-be 25s I've turned into 24s in trap.

I shot today with the Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 9mm. I always shoot just a hair to the left of dead-center with that gun and I believe the issue is the trigger, which has a lackluster reputation on the generation of those pistols that I purchased.

It was a lot of fun, anyway, and I did learn a thing or two and got to hear a lot of my own BANGS.

Just guessing, but I think that target is dead.

As a defensive pistol shooting at 7 yards, you've definitely shown us that your S&W 9mm does the job :!: Good shooting.

That does look like it was a fun time....I've never put that many rounds into a single target. Might be fun to try somtime with my Henry .22LR SGC at a range distance between 25 -35 yards. ;)
