Just what I was looking for and grabbed it!

Yep a very good condition nickel plated S&W Hammerless Safety Break Top revolver in SW 38 caliber with 4 inch barrel! Saw it on Guns International where it had just been posted for sale Saturday morning. Seller shipped it right out and I got it today and it is in really great shape from the late 1890's I think.
Love the pearl grips and the lock up is tight and trigger pull is nice and barrel rifling is in great shape. Put a blank round in and it fired on first hit.

Now to get a shoulder rig for it like my buddy has you see! :D

Nice, I have something similar in 32 s&w, but blued.
Patiently awaiting that first range report.

Do you know what year yours may have been made? S&W made changes in the style of latch during the different models from what I read.

Sweet, now you need a shoulder holster for it.
:D
You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.

I don't look back at the things I can't do anymore with regret, I just look forward to the things I still can.

Love the pearl grips
understood .... I have an old Smith 38 that had pearl grips .... I didn't realize how brittle were and messed them up .... I had to purchase Smith wooden grips which are still on the revolver .... can only wish I'd of taken the pearls off immediately and of saved them
