Yesterday I picked up my new Charter Arms 9mm snubby. Just finished an IWB holster for it works great and comfy.

Nice holster work. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on the 9mm revolver you picked up. I had a 3" S&W 947 that I gifted to a good friend. It was a nice shooter.

Was at the range yesterday, set the target at 25 feet. The first few rounds were shooting a bit high. Trigger pull was a little over 7 pounds the revolver is double action/single action. All spent rounds dumped out easily. Loading was easy and best there are no moon clips needed. The revolver was very comfortable when shooting at 20 oz. it had a light recoil at a free energy of about 3ft.lbs.

I had a Smith 940 for a while. That one needed the clips.
Another one of those guns I never used, yet still kinda regret selling.

Yeah, I've had several revolvers that required moon clips. Took bit to get used to using moon clips, but with the right tools and enough moon clips to load for a single range session, not bad. I'd just load up the moon clips before I went to the range.

Agreed, used to have a Smith that used moon clips and I didn’t care for them at all.

Back in 86 I was going to buy Smith and Wesson 9mm revolver model 547 it did not use moon clips. Sadly, they went out of production in 85 as there was not a demand for the 9mm revolver. They were over 800 bucks then and it was a pipe dream as I could not afford one. The Charter 9mm was 490 bucks a hell a lot cheaper as technology has caught up.

I have three Airweight J-frames lightened up with titanium .357Mag cylinders reamed for 9mm.
I like Tom Threepersons holsters. Also like moonclips for speed of ejection and reloading.

Yes, the old Shooting Stars. Been using them since the 1960s. Getting hard to find.

i thought so . I have a pair on my Colt Single Action Army 45. The bigger grips make it into a usable revolver for my big mitts. I could not hit anything with it with the standard grips.I never could understand what Colt was thinking when they used the navy sized grips for a revolver that shot a 250 bullet using 40 grains of powder. I think the 1860 army grip would have been a better fit.

I've been working on the biomechanics and flight mechanics of Pterosaurs for thirty years now. They are fascinating critters.
Here I am out in my front yard with the left humerus of Quetzalcoatlus northropi - one of the largest animals that ever flew. Shoulder is in my right hand, elbow in my left.

Travlin, I like the 1860 Army grips too.
Also like the .45 acp.
So I made my 1860 replica a convertible - takes about a minute to convert between C&B and acp.

Like what you've done to those Airweights. 9mm has become the 22 LR of the handgun world, now. Mild recoil, cheap to shoot and available everywhere is hard to beat.

In a 12 ounce gun 147gr 9mm recoil is extremely painful even though I am not recoil sensitive.
Much worse than .38 Sp.
The mod will also chamber and fire .357 Mag, but I have no intention whatever of ever doing that. Not sure if the frame would handle it, and I know my thumb couldn't stand it.
