Very interesting, Ernie. That would make it the last year for the Old Model. Ruger introduced the New Model in 1973.

Ernie that is a great SBH to have! Nice sbh revolvers the rest of you all have to and can't go wrong with a beefy Ruger SBH. I have one also I found some years ago at my LGS hiding in back of the used gun display. Got it for 400 bucks and still tight and shoots great!

Never had any luck with H110. Unique and 2400. No magnum primers required

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Have Hornandy 240 XTP and 240 Missouri cast bullets as well. Have more H110 than anything else. Hodgdon over shipped my order and told me to keep it when I notified them. May try batches of the 3 powders suggested.
Thank You

9 grains of Unique should be real close. I use 18 of 2400 in my 41 with a 210 Hornady. I bet you will find it will be close to that. H110 will be full bore. Its not a powder in my experience that will work down loading it

I like that 9.0 grs of Unique load with the cast.
I believe 17.9 of 2400 and the xtp shot one ragged hole from the Henry at 40 yds.
Should be pretty good out of the SBH also.

Nice Find. I too love the grips but might be afraid to shoot with them on the gun.

I am a fan of single actions as well, and I recently scored a pair a Blackhawks.
One in 357 Maximum, and another in 30 Carbine.
Both were in excellent condition with the 357 Maximum being NIB.
(It wasn't for long.) I had no plans to keep it as a collectable and the seller made me promise to shoot it, so I did.

The 30 Carbine had been shot once or twice, but was still flawless. I shot it as well. The wife said it was a cannon.

That’s awesome. Two Blackhawks in uncommon calibers. Nice finds.
