New Ruger LCRx revolver Picture

Very cool, Army. I've looked at those. My preference is to have an external hammer like yours so you can choose to shoot either action. The bobbed hammer on a revolver just doesn't quite look right to me. (Maybe a little thinking similar to folk not liking a scope on a Henry!). I'm sure the recoil is solid with +P ammo, but I bet the Hogue Tamer grip will help a lot.

My first Ruger SP101 was a 3" with a fixed rear sight, and I changed out original grip to a Hogue. Also put one of those Hogues on my current 4.25" SP101. They really help with recoil, and keep the revolver solidly in position.

My one other revolver was an S&W Model 637 Enhanced Action out of their Performance Center (.38 Spl + P). It had a 1.875" barrel with a fixed rear sight. I think your 3" barrel is a great snubby length, and you made a great choice. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

I was in Cabelas in Denver and saw a boat load of Ruger revolvers (new). I saw a GP100 .22 lr. I first asked why, then it grew on me and I looked them all over.

I'm still warming up to the LCR series. 3" is a very practical length. Congrats on the new gun and as Ranch Roper said, Pics please.

I was in my LGS a few weeks ago and handled the GP100 in .22LR. A solidly built stainless steel revolver with a 5.5" barrel length....cool. But there would be a deal breaker for me on this model...I'm not ready to clean this many chambers after shooting it!!

Five or six is plenty...Army's new revolver is just right with 5 rounds!

Congrats on the new revolver. I have a snub LCR, DA only and really enjoy it.

I don't know about 5 or 6 being enough. I have a Single-Ten and it is just right. I think I would like the exposed hammer because I'm not much of a single action person.

Sir Henry, I missed something in your post. Double action revolvers have exposed hammers just like single actions???

My Ruger LCR-X .38 Sp. I like an exposed hammer on a DA revolver.

I like that speed loader Whaler.

Reminds me a lot of my Wife's S&W BG 38, We traded a hammer for a laser !!
She likes a hammer also, but was cool w/the laser instead. 38 +P is a wicked round !!

Most do but not all of them. Those designed for your pocket or purse do not have exposed hammers.
