Ordered a threaded barrel from Nighthawk Custom and it arrived today. A drop in style barrel you really don't know till you put it in.
Barrel was just a bit tight when in battery while in slide and noticed that the corners on the hood end needed to be radiused like the original Ruger barrel. Once that was done it is fine now. The Ruger barrel had about .006 end play while in lock up and this one maybe .002.
The sight view with the can on is not that bad with top of the front sight about flush with O.D. of it.
Will see how it runs without and with the suppressor. May have to stone off a few more thousandths to deal with the expected blow back debris.
Spring has sprung. Get out and shoot your Henry

Nice set up Forty. Glad the barrel fit up as easy as it did. 1911 barrels can be a bear to fit sometimes. Even drop in barrels can be a pain if the 1911 was made out of spec. You got the right idea and test it's operation and function before you test with the can.
Looking forward to that range report.

Only hitch was the Nighthawk barrel bushing would not engage the twist groove on the slide. The Ruger bushing fit the new barrel fine and went right on. The Nighthawk barrel is .001 or one thousandth of an inch smaller in O.D. than the Ruger barrel and don't think that will hurt for what I do.
The 1911 cycles fine and locks in great. When this rainy weather moves out I will go to the range.
