Nah, remember all the Smolts back in the 70s? They had more than Grips on the Smith Frame... :D

What is the custom S&W/Colt hybrid:
Combination of Smith & Wesson Revolver and Colt Python Barrel.
This type of hybrid was popular in the 1970s for PPC matches.
It is built off a S&W Model 66 fitted with a 4-inch Python Barrel.
It has a crane ball lock, a bobbed hammer and chamfered chambers.
The cylinder release is machined so its compatible with speed loaders.
It is 9-inches long and weighs 36 ounces.
The conversion cost around $1,400.

I'll certainly forgive you for a Colt logo on your grips.
I like both Colt and Smith anyway.

Just a personal preference but I like black grips on stainless guns. All my stainless handguns wear Hogue grips. Blue guns, now they just scream out for a nice looking set of wood grips.

I had a few minutes of free time and took the 63 out to the pasture. I shot 24 rds through it with the Colt grips. It had no performance issues and the grip fit well and performed well.
I like black grips on stainless guns too.
Thanks for the reference to Smolts Marine. I remember the Smolts and Smythons of years ago.
Wrong or not, these grips fit the bill. I don't worry about scratching them when laying on my side fixing something and they fill my hand better than the original grips and Tyler T.

You know, you could always punch out the Colt emblems from the back and send them to me. I'll make some custom grips for the diamondback. You could mount a customized coin or decorative insert there. (State Seal, Instructor Logo... :D ) Your barney bullet.

Back in the early 80's when I bought my 686, the first thing I did was put a set of Pachmyer grips on it. They have been on there ever since. I protected and boxed up the original beautiful wood grips which I still have, in brand new condition.
Those grips look nice Dave!

I put hogues or pachmyers on most of my guns for years. Complete control in any conditions. I too put the factory grips away. Later, I began to go with oversized wooden grips with fresh vet wrap before each match. Tacky, without being sticky... The things you pick up along the journey.
