Before you try this make sure you have some super light cowboy loads. That 38 Ruger shows as much recoil as a 22.

I tried this with my .41mag NMBH. Did ok without any bullets in the cylinder. Don't think I'd want to do it with 210 grn XTP tho. :lol:

Yep cowboy loads only with that. I shoot just fine the standard way.

With the coil spring action of a Ruger single action you could probably get away with that. I would not do it with a Colt or Colt clone as I think that it would lead to very worn or even broken parts.I have a Ruger Blackhawk and a Colt S.A.A. both are .45's. If I had to bet my life on one it would be the Ruger.
