With the high cost of ammo we have been shooting more rimfires. I have a couple of single action 22 revolvers but wanted an automatic also. I went to a local store and bought a new Ruger Mark IV 22 bull barrel pistol. I have shot a couple mags through it with zero complaints. Are others increasing their rimfire shooting ? Here is a pic of my new pistol.

I am just because Im tired of chasing brass and reloading. Been shooting more Black Powder also just because I like the camaraderie and I have always liked shooting Black.

Enjoy your new Mark.
Air gun shooting has replaced nearly all four powder gun shooting, including rimfire, but we will be making a trip to the club range, soon, to burn some powder. Just that it's hard to beat the cost of air gun shooting and being able to shoot right at home.

I want a mark IV Target, but need to let my wrist heal and build my berm to finish my range first. We have an old Ruger Mark I the wife carried around the farm in case of varmints in the traps or rabid things.

I have a MK II and really like it. I don't know much about the MK IV series.
I've been shooting a lot of rimfire as well.

The biggest advantage I see in the Mark IV is the tilt down for cleaning feature. The old styles were complicated to break down and reassemble.

I have been shooting rimfire (.22, .22mag, .17HMR) because I have a lot of that ammo. I don’t reload so I have to buy .38, .357mag, .45lc, .44-40 which is expensive at this time.

Nice pistol. I have an interest in the Mark IV because of the ease of breakdown but have not seen one for sale in many months. Congratulations on your new Ruger.

About a month ago I brought home a Mark IV 22/45 but I’m embarrassed to admit I still haven’t shot it. But, it sure looks pretty sitting in the safe.

Not as pretty as that stainless beauty at the top of the page.

In regards to finding one I was actually shocked to see one in the show case. They also had the more modern style but I liked this one better.
