Buckmark tryout

Not really a range report, and can't post any pics until my new PC arrives and I get it dialed in, but tried out the Buckmark Camper yesterday. Not a single problem. Ran 2 mags, one CCI 40grn mini-mag hp, and one CCi 40grn Velocitor hp. Bullets went to point of aim at 10 yds, from a Caldwell pistol bag on the porch rail - 5 rds each mag, then 5rds each mag standing. There was some scatter when I stood up and fired without support, but that's all me. With some more practice and control I should be able to hit the squirrels at the 30-40 yard distance provided I use the porch rail for steadying. I hate getting old, but the alternative is unacceptable at this time. ;)

Glad its working out Gene. I had a couple buckmarks at one time the only thing I didnt care for on them was the plastic rear sight. Shooting off the back porch would be a real treat. Im jealous

According to their parts list, the plastic sight was discontinued some years ago. Currently aluminum.

Yeah, porches are cool. I shoot from either front or back. They're full length of the house.

All my back porch shooting is really shooting off our raised deck and it's all airgun shooting, but, oh yeah, I feel very lucky just to step out on the deck now and then and do some plinking.

Being able to shoot off the porch is a good deal. I bet it cuts down on door peddlers.

Haven't seen a single one since we built here in 2000. But we're not xacly on a main street.

Front porch faces SE. It's about 100yds to the tree line from there, and another 300yds+ East thru the woods to the road. I can shoot in every direction with any of my guns. I'd have to be careful with a long range rifle, but I have access to family property of over 1000yds for that kind of thing. I'm not a spray and pray guy anyway. :)

Google Sat view of the 4 or so acres around the house, but not all of what we have.

Nice property. Glad you like the Buckmark. I have a couple and they shoot as well as I am able to.
