Followed me Home.
Well Sat. afternoon I needed to run to the grocery store for a few things.
Just so happens, that the local Academy store is at the opposite end of the same strip mall as one of the Koger stores.
So I just went to gander, and did find a holster for my little Kimber Solo.
While gazing at the handgun counter I saw three Heritage revolvers, and one Wrangler.
I have been interested in them, and I'm a Ruger fan any way.
They only had the one, as I was thinking about the black one, but the silver was what was there.
And the other thread had gotten my interest peaked again. thanks to all you guys.
So did the deed, and they offered me a 500 count box of Winchester ammo, at a reasonable price, worked out to just a hair over .06Β’ a piece.
The pistol was $199 plus uncle Sam's part, so no gouge, a buddy said a shop on the southside has the same one for $219 + tax.
Brought it home and took it apart some just inspecting, the cylinder is a little different in comparison to the single-sixes.
The rod the holds it in place is identical, on inspection I noticed that one particular chamber was so tight I couldn't get a round in it.
So I do a little honing and got it to where it would slip in fine, while I was at it I hit the others just a tad for good measure.
And next, as I do with All of my Ruger single actions, I unhook one side if the hammer spring. It lightens the trigger ever so slightly.
And threw those plastic grips in a bag and went into the the grip dance, finally went with a lighter set that matches up closely with the H001.
Next I take it out on the back porch, yes and toss out a couple Mt. Dew cans about 10 or so yards.
Took a few rounds to figure out the sights, and I hitting 60%, pulled out one of the Rough Riders and one of SS's.
Did better with Wrangler than the Heritage, but didn't out shoot the single-six.
No surprise since the sights are more better, plus I have years of time behind the pair of those.
So over all it's a pretty fair pistola, and I believe with a little time I will be pretty effective with it.
I like the weight and balance of it, and twirls rather easily. .

Here's a pic or two.
I will try some targets soon to see what it looks like.
Had errands yesterday so I was mostly just playing and getting familiar.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Good set-up Randy on the Ruger.
Actually, either the Ruger or the RR. Been eyeing one of those Rough Riders. That safety thingy bug you at all? Think I could live with it.

Re: Followed me Home.
Tom most of the time I just leave it off, the thing that bothers me the most other than it isn't necessary.
It's just plain ugly. Got me the other day first time, probably cleaning it I had pushed it on,
didn't realize till I pulled the trigger and it just went click.
I believe the RR's are a tad more accurate with the mags though, especially the 6.5" one.
I can sometimes out shoot the single-six with it.

My CO2 Peacemaker came with a safety and I decided to never use it. It just doesnβt seem right.
