Have you ever turned down the back of the .45ACP cylinder on a Ruger Blackhawk .45 so it could shoot .45 Auto Rim ammo along with .45ACP? The ACP round headspaces on the case mouth so that wouldn't change.

Your answer is NO ....That would super easy to do , but I see NO reason to make a 45 auto rim fit the 45 ACP cylinder . There is brass like the 45 auto rim made to fit the 45 colt cylinder for SASS shooters . I heard some shooters use the 45 AR brass in both cylinders in different Rugers . Not all cylinder are the same between Ruger SA .

Thanks Tx. I don't think auto rim brass will work in a standard .45 Colt cylinder because the rim is thick to = the thickness of moon clips when used with .45 ACP. I have the Ruger convertible .45 = .45 ACP. and .45 Colt cylinders. Like you I had a "Super" lowered spur hammer installed before I even shot the revolver for the first time. My first big bore handgun was a pristine 1917 Colt. Alas it got traded years ago.
