On the blued versus stainless thing, I think it really is a personal preference, though, yes, stainless has some advantages in terms of maintenance and upkeep. On single action revolvers, though, I actually like the look of blued gun that is showing it's wear from use. To me, nothing has more of an Old West look than a well-used blued Colt or Remington six-shooter.

Just to add to the sights comments...mine took some getting used to but I quite like it now...it gets me about 10" from rear to front sight. Anyhow good luck with what you decide.

I do like that one Evan...price is good too. Just thinking, I might need those FO sights like are on the single 10.
I know it's not as traditional, however, gotta consider my weak peepers. Appreciate the post though. Will not rule it out yet!

Thanks NCG. I too think to stay with some tradition with blued finish is nice. I think it does in fact come with the same sights as the SS which, although is a compromise from tradition is a plus for me. Williams and FO seem like it might be a good combo.

Mark, keep in mind that even those old traditional Colt gutter sights are still decent for target work as long as the light is good. It's when the right is not good that you'll have issues seeing them. Definitely not the best choice if you plan to use the gun under all kinds of conditions, but still very useable if you pick days when the light is good. The light on a range day is a factor for us on what types of guns/sights we choose. We save the iron sight stuff for days when the light is good. Really something to consider about those Colt clones, because there is still nothing like shooting a Colt style single action. Ruger's come close, of course, but working that Colt action is a world of its own (translation: very addictive).

All the valuable information certainly gives me a lot to consider. I sometimes act on impulse rather than reality. Maybe I don't necessarily NEED what I WANT. I have to be smart and clear thinking with my acquisitions and your great input ALWAYS helps NCG...thank you again!

I'll second that recommendation for the Single Ten. No extra magnum cylinder, but that was never a factor for me, anyway. It does have non-traditional fiber optic sights, which may be a turn off for some, but they really are very nice for shooting.

If the fiber optic sights work better, then get that model. I have both a Single Six convertible and a Single Nine, and the fiber optic tube make a world of difference when shooting. They both are accurate, but the single nine is much easier to pick up sight/target aquisition with.
