This is my set up for holsters. Summer, Spring and Fall I use the pocket holster. This one is a Tagua brand and I like that it completely covers the trigger. For winter carry I switch to the paddle holster as I’m usually wearing a sweatshirt. I like the paddle style because it’s fast to put on and off which leads to more consistent carry. Brand on the paddle is MASC.

I eventually chose the holster/fly setup because it completely covers the pistol outline under my clothing. I have both the paddle and pocket style holsters but don't use them because the pistol grip outline was obvious under my sweat shirt and pants pocket. 'Ya that guy has a gun under there'.

Prices have shot up and those I would be most interested in are now likewise beyond my price range. I'm hoping someday the Charterarms .380 revolver will come on sale at a price I'm willing to pay. The reason for wanting that one... I'm getting tired of chasing brass in the grass ejected from my semi-auto. Even when I put a tarp out the brass flies out mostly beyond it.

You're right Mags. It may be time to explore other calibers with lower prices.
What doesn't help matters is that the tax assessment on my house just jumped way up. As a result, my mortgage payment just went up $120.00 a month. Not much to many, but significant to me.

I will continue to be labeled paranoid whether I'm able to get a different EDC or not. I've always carried with an empty chamber but that might just have to change as long as I have a gimpy left hand.

Im assuming you are chasing 380 brass Mags? Brass chasing has gotten old for me also. I do chase it occasionally but not often anymore. Unless of course there is a pile of it in one location. I will then pick up that big pile. It does happen when I go to Texas. But I have enough 9mm and 40 S&W I can turn my back on it if I dont feel like bending over.

Yes .380 brass and I do fail to find them all, so I do end up walking away from some. At the moment I have plenty of unloaded brass as well as loaded, but the slow attrition loss I figure will catch up to me in time. I do later search for some with a metal detector, but the iron in the dirt here makes finding the escapees iffy.

Smith and Wesson makes some EZ slide M&P models. I believe in both 9mm and 380. Myself I dont care for them as Im not fond of the skinny grip safety they use on those models.

I've never shot one but I was looking at them with a friend and they are very easy to rack. You can get them with grip and thumb safeties. Single stack so only a 8rd mag also an added advantage (to me anyway) is they come with a solid trigger instead of a 2-piece safety trigger like their other Shields.

Ive shot the Equalizer in 9mm. I would not own one of those after shooting one. It was terrible for me.

About the prices. The Ruger Security 380's start at about $290, The M&P EZ about $90 more and the Equalizer approaching $500.
When you go look, keep in mind you were also thinking revolver, so look at those too.

Thanks for the info, Mags. The Security and the EZ might be within reach. I DO like the thought of a revolver as well; however, a semi makes more sense for concealability. I wonder how many here think a 380 is sufficient for self-defense. Heck...personally I wouldn't want to be hit with a .22.
I've got some shopping to do.
In the meantime, I guess I'll keep carrying my XD-s 9mm and switch hands to rack in the unlikely event I would have to. 🫨
