I agree with you in comparing these two models.CT_Shooter wrote:RanchRoper, I just watched two youtube videos on each of these revolvers and they are surely beautiful reproductions! But, I came away thinking the rear sight on the older Colt 1860 Richards Mason Transition, which is a notch in the fully cocked hammer, would be difficult to master. For that reason, the newer Colt 1872 Open Top would be my choice between these two revolvers.
