I have been thinking about a 357 revolver so I do like all this good information.
Thanks.

I've always admired that Colt of yours, RR.

Yeah, a 357 revolver is pretty basic, Ernie. Does just about anything. It's a very useful tool.

Here's my old Ruger Security Six 357. It's somewhere between a K frame and an L frame Smith in size or a Ruger SP-101 and the larger and heavier Ruger GP-100 which replaced it. I like it because it is a sweeter handling gun than a Ruger GP-100. Takes down in seconds. These don't last long when they come up for sale. Pretty it ain't, but it shoots great. Can't wear one of these out.

Always liked those but you just don't see many locally.
I think they are of a perfect size da revolver.
I have 2 357 revolvers, SA Ruger Vaquero and an original Colt King Cobra.
I'll find a pic.

Classics are nice. If I can find one at a price that don't hurt, I may pick it up.

Well, S&W strikes again.
I went to a shop over in Delaware to pick up some reloading supplies. Standing at the counter to pay I spied a blued model10 under the glass, with an attractive price tag. Asked to see it and upon doing an abbreviated exam I immediately saw that this was like a brand new gun. Its hard to believe how "new" this thing is. I later determined that it was most likely made in the late '70s and as an added bonus, the best bonus with a 10-8 s&w had replace ALL of their tooling to run the new model so the 10-8's are really really nice examples. Remember they had been making this same basic model since 1899 so beginning with all new tooling is great.
The timing is good, b/c gap looks to be about .003-.004, cylinder stop fits all the stop notches perfectly, the bluing is just luxurious, bore and chambers look nice and bright. I could just not find anything wrong with it.
I dont see how people pay the prices of these new models when there are so many nice examples of these originals out there to be had. It may take a little work and patience but theyre out there.
Please always remember to never forget, No matter where you go, there you are.

Congrats on the Model 10. It's one of my favorite 38 revolvers.

Went to the range yesterday with two revolvers and two semi’s and the revolvers definitely won the day. :D
