My favorite SA would be the Colt SAA.
Rugers are nice, so are Cimarrons, & some others, but Colt is the one that started it.

Uberti makes Cimarrons SA guns and and a few other ones . For many years almost all Colt part were made by Uberti and Colt used and assemble here in the USA under Colts name ....

It's hard for me to say when or even how or where I heard someone (though, I suspect it was Hickok45) say that when Colt resumed production on their 1873 SAA revolvers after many years had lapsed, they used the very same worn tools that they had been using when they stopped production. So, for several years, their parts were not equal to Uberti's, which may be why they began to buy parts from them. Later, as I recall, it was reported that they re-tooled to go measure-for-measure with Uberti (and others).

Take this with .99 grain of salt.

I hear the Uberti made Colt parts a lot, I really don't think it's true.
The Later Colts I've seen & handled are very nice guns. The problem guns were in the early third generation guns about the 1980s, the current third gen. Colts are very nice, well timed, put together, & the ones I've shot are accurate.
By the way only Colt makes the SAA, (Single Action Army) others are SAs incorrectly called SAA, but only Colt makes the SAA.

I am not taking away from Ruger, Uberty/Cimarron, & some of the others, they are fine SA guns but they are NOT SAAs, they are SAs.

I don't care if you or anyone believe me or not . I know it to be a fact and I'm 73 and life is too short to proof it you . It is up to you too prove me wrong and not say I'm wrong . If you don't think it is true proof it .

I can't see the computer sometime to proof check all my post and thank you for checking my post and finding a misprint like SAA on my post when my blood sugar is high and my eyes are burred and I can't read . I will PM you my post for you check when my eyes are giving trouble .

I'm not going to argue, I've got you beat by one year. Take care of that diabetes, my first Wife died from it don't fool if your blood sugar is high get it down. Praying your Blood Sugar gets into normal range.
