Re: Best revolver finishes?
Yes it does. But the main advantage is sight radius. Back when I was younger I used to shoot steel silhouettes at 100 yds with it. Can't even see them now.
Any load data discussed by me is for entertainment purposes only. I can not condone or be responsible for it's use by others.

You guys act like the blue wearing off from pulling it out of the holster is a "bad thing"?
I think it looks cool as heck; makes it "my gun".
The shiny ones do look good, though

Re: Best revolver finishes?
I'm reading on several SA forums that the transfer bar safeties are delicate and prone to problems on Uberti and Pietta Colt clones. I may just go with a regular one and load 5. Not much chance of a problem with a hammer on an empty chamber.

Going after the safest route is a good thing! All equipment may fail at times.

Re: Best revolver finishes?
I've never owned a stainless gun but that doesn't mean I don't want some.
Bluing can be easily ruined from rust or chemicals, nickel-plating can flake off but stainless can be easily buffed out or blasted to quickly restore the finish.
Stainless can be buffed up to look like nickel so I'd love to have some Ruger MK's and Single-Sixes in S/S.
