Show off your 1911s!

This is what inspired me too get the EMP. I guess I like the three letter Springfield Armory guns.

Travlin, it would be frustrating to own a gun that NEEDS to be on this thread, and you can't post. I'm frustrated cause I can't see the pictures.Travlin wrote:Nice 1911s and good photos. I have to admit I'm frustrated with not being able to figure out the picture posting. I know there is a post in the computer section . I will have to try and use the I-Mac camera to post a picture of my pre-war National Match. Maybe tomorrow night if I'm not totally beat. I can build a house but I'm not good on computers.

Re: Show off your 1911s!
The 911 is a gun I always wanted since watching "Combat" as a kid.
Now that my only centerfire pistol, and primary method of defense, is gulp 72 years old, I'm kind of looking.....
Seriously, I have 1 Centerfire rifle and 1 centerfire pistol, and that's it.
Anyway, I just can't warm up to the cocked and locked with the safety on method though. Hickok45 does it, as do all of you, I'm sure.
I just prefer the double action / single action type, like the Walther or Beretta, and I think that is the way I'll be going.
When I get home and see the pics, I'll probably change my mind, though

It took me awhile to get used to carrying a Springfield XD that way but after a few months I don't even think about it. And the XD doesn't even have a proper safety although the Sherpa holster prevents it from firing while in it. The only time I remove it is when I'm at the range or home cleaning the lint off of it.Henry88 wrote:The 911 is a gun I always wanted since watching "Combat" as a kid.

Coach, you have got to stop posting pictures of that EMP!!
Every time you do, I drool all over my keyboard. I am afraid it will short out and be ruined.

All you fellows who have been "showing off" your sharp-looking 1911s in this thread are doing a great job. Thanks for posting.
Much better than this gentleman's showing off --- at least he teaches us a little bit about handgun safety!
