No shame in having CS fix it. Still, with Colt SAA clones, they do tend to break fairly often (which is why Ruger has sold a zillion Vaqueros and New Vaqueros over the years). If you're going to shoot yours a lot, you may want to learn to replace springs in it.

Thanks, ditto. I'm beginning to understand that. I just wish I knew someone nearby who already knows how to do it. Youtube is helpful, but one-to-one guidance can be a whole lot better.

You must have the older model guns . Since you sent them to the factory back I'm sure they will upgrade to the new design springs and cylinder pawl which they should never break again . The old Colt design flat springs did break a lot . The new pawl and 1 spring is a Ruger pawl .

I bought the gun NIB in December, but it could easily have been on the distributors shelf for years. I've never asked when it was made, but I will do that just for my own info. Thanks for the reply and advice. It pretty good to have a Firearms Advisor on board.

The other flat spring replacement and is for trigger and cylinder stop . After rereading your post this is more likely the one you needed .

Thanks for your help. I'm sending the gun back to Taylor's today. They emailed a prepaid FedEx label.

After this, I'm going to learn how to maintain it myself. Or try, anyway.

The repaired revolver arrived today. Taylor's and Company turned it around very quickly. I'm pleased about that; but I do intend to get more familiar with caring for this and other SAA guns in the future.

I agree with Seabee...that's really excellent turnaround time on your SW. I think an important part of owning a new gun is how well the CS is done by the company. When they're good, I always appreciate it a lot.

So congrats, and glad your revolver is safely home!! :D
Enjoy, CT.
