enjoyed your NC Qualification video .... back when I was an instructor in NC's prison system a Smith 357 was our service revolver .... the course we fired had the same distances but that is where the similarity ends .... thanks for posting your video, it brought back some good memories

Nice recovery on that spent brass ejection glitch. Those mandatory reloads to me seem a challenge to execute well, but you smoothly went through that one.

Enjoying these quals, and I hope all 50 come through for you. And really enjoy it when I watch revolver shooting. I'm a wheel gun lover, and all my handguns are revolvers.

Nice recovery on that spent brass ejection glitch. Those mandatory reloads to me seem a challenge to execute well, but you smoothly went through that one.

You've just got to love a good wheelgun! They have been doing the job for nearly two centuries and they still do it just as well as when they started!

I had a 625 years ago, but as a young fella with four kids, I ended up trading it off to another Officer for a more suitable gun for my needs for PPC. It is one of the guns I wouldn't mind having back in the safe. There are a few.

I too am a revolver lover. My favorite is my Smith 686. Would love to see you work one of those sometime. Mine is 6" and as far as hand guns go, I find it to be very accurate!

I think the 686 is just about the perfect platform for the .357 Magnum cartridge. It's built heavily enough to stand up to extended shooting with the most powerful .357 ammo you can find (nuclear handloads excluded, of course). The heavy barrel also causes it to be somewhat muzzle heavy; which helps keep muzzle-flip from being too bad. Conversely, the 686 is lighter and more compact than the N-frames, and that makes it more "packable." Add to that S&W's action and accuracy, and you've got a revolver that's just hard to beat. The 4" version is my favorite, but the others are great choices in their own right.

Ha, ha! That's doubtful! These days recruiting has more to do with looking for good communication skills and de-escalation abilities than firearm prowess (which is a good thing, by the way). I doubt anyone will be looking for a dinosaur like me!
