in a vain attempt to act like RanchRoper, I sometimes carry my heritage RR about the property and such.
I found :
1) Even if right handed, it's a lot easier to get in and out of the truck if the gun is on your left hip.
2) I feel like I have more "control" of the gun ( can't take it away ), carrying it just to the left of my belt buckle (think Doc Holliday).
3) A longer barrel is easier (faster ?) to pull out cross draw ( Inspector Callahan

).
What else ??
Don't forget the total coolness factor of packing your sidearm like an old frontier Texas Ranger...
