the Big Guy likes it and that's all that matters! Will go to the range again and see if it gets on target better.
Made the sight ramp and the .120 dia. brass post/bead and had to open up the rear sight. Any thoughts on the little cheap Heritage project?

No out of the box Heritage ever looked so good. You could probably start a Heritage Custom Shop. Love that you opened up the rear sight notch. That's done wonders for my shooting when I've done it on some guns.

Well you know my wheels are always turning.....keeps the mind fresh. Since I had gotten the Uberti Cattleman 12 shooter 22 the lonesome Rough Rider has been hidden in a drawer. Decided it would make for cool inexpensive little project as a snub nose .22 like the Barkeep. Think the front sight helped it out a bit.
Now to find a better place for it to rest other than a drawer. Maybe some kind of crafted wooden case? Oh oh another project

Looks good, I really like the wider rear sight area also.

“ Any thoughts on the little cheap Heritage project?”

My thoughts on the project is you have created a one of a kind very cool looking belly gun in a pretty impressive caliber for it’s size. But…

My thoughts on the creator of this project is “wow, sure wish I could do stuff like that”. :D

Thanks for the comments on this fun little project! The front sight bead is a piece of 1/8 inch brass rod about .280 in length that is pressed into the aluminum sight ramp from the bottom side. I polished a round bead type shape on the end and it is easy to pick up thru rear sight. There is a matching shallow hole in the barrel for about .080 of the brass to fit in that hole.
That helps anchor the sight ramp in place so it won't twist. Also removed that funky flip safety on the left side and will plug the hole.

Also big thanks goes out to my local Ace Hardware where I found a 5-40 gun screw with the slotted head to secure the sight to the barrel.
That store carries about any type screw you can think of!

The skull type grips that Heritage included with the engraved "Gamblers" 22 Mag cylinder were beyond cheap being just thin hollow plastic wrapped with a vinyl skull and card decal. No use for those and may at a later time get the factory wood grips laser engraved locally.
