Star BM

Post by Roland the Headless » Thu Oct 15, 2020 10:48 pm

Well so much for a catchy model designations
but these are great lil 9mms
I picked up 2 of them one for me and one for my daughter

she loved it

I got to admit it ...I like them too

The star bm is a single stacked, single action 9 mm police/ mil trade in made from 71 thru 92ish
Made in Spain... used by their police and military
also used by South Africa,Rhodesia and other small countries

it looks like the 1911's lil brother and is a lot like it, although the trigger pivots and it has no grip safety
the manual of arms is so similar any 1911 geek will love it too

there has to be a down side right well there is ...while parts aren't nonexistent they can be rare
there is a hack for sig mags ( ordered and on the way ) so I will be trying that
if the firing pin breaks it has to be hand fit.... lets... just knock on wood on that
it is a compact but too heavy so it feels like a full sized gun
it has a mag disconnect but it is removable
paddle or pan see ya on the creek

Yeah , Star did it 40 years before the world caught on fire for compact single stack 9mm 1911ish guns.
Yeah ,a little on the heavy side though ,,,,,kinda like a brick.
Liked mine but sadly did get rid of it , mostly because of the parts thing .
