Best revolver finishes?
Re: Best revolver finishes?
That's interesting Danwinn, In other words bluing a and nickel are a plating, while the stainless has more of an intrinsic quality?

Re: Best revolver finishes?
My new Triple K holster arrived. Once I oil my cartridge belt it will match quite well. I put the old Daisy pistol in it just to check the fit but I'm excited to put a nice. 45 Colt clone with 7.5" barrel in it in the near future.

The grips look great. How do they feel in your hand when firing the revolver?

Re: Best revolver finishes?
That's the big question I guess. A couple of guys said they tried that style but did not like the feel. Went back to walnut.

I had a LONG reply post to you but I did not push SEND here.

You will LOVE the Triple K holster!
I had a Triple K western belt (45 Long Colt for my former Ruger Blackhawk in a 7.5 inch barrel bought back east.) and two Triple K holsters for many years! I wore them in the woods/wilderness, when I competed and I used one of them on almost a daily basis out here. The 45Long Colt one fit a Ruger Blackhawk in a 357Magnum even though it was a wee bit shorter barrel - 6.5 inch. The other one fit three Ruger single action revolvers of mine - RF. Two were in 22lr/22wmr and one Bisley in 22lr only.
This was when I used to own, shoot and open/conceal handguns in various calibers.
My second favorite form of carry was using a shoulder holster but the Triple K gear was my favorite set up.
My shoulder holster was made by Uncle Mike's - black webbed fabric. I liked it very much for my specific handguns. I used it to mainly carry my Smith and Wesson Model 686 and in two Model 29's in a -2 and a - 3.
I did try some other very nice and more expensive leather shoulder holsters that my MT husband wanted to give me from his former, sweet selection but I liked the Uncle Mike's one the best. I tried them for two classic S&W J frames - Model 60 and Model 317 too.
The leather belt holster that I had for my former Glock, back east, was a Bianchi. I think that it was called Old World Leather but I am not positive now. Sorry.
Good shooting to you, RR!
Cate

Re: Best revolver finishes?
Thank you Cate. Appreciate the information. I'll either fill it with a Uberti or Pietta 45 Colt 7.5" barrel. My holster and revolver will get used as much as our law allows! It sure sounds like you did lots of shootin' though!
