New rear sight for my 1895 Marlin .45-70

Post by fortyshooter » Sun Apr 12, 2020 10:42 pm

My Marlin was getting jealous of those Henry boys having the neat ghost ring sights...so into the shop I go!

No hacksaw job for this beast as a complete new sight would have to be made but I designed it to simply pop right into the existing
dovetail holder. After an afternoon of machine work it is installed and ready for a range trip!

First picture is the factory notch sight which I have trouble with when sighting in.

Jealous of your equipment. I would love to be able to make what I imagine. I’ve done a little and been luck it worked. God job.
Remember, it's not how many guns you have. It's how many bullets you have.
