Marlin 336 stock switch

I recently learned how easy it is to remove the lower tang, Lever and trigger group of Marlin lever rifles.
I've had a 1982, 336 in 35rem. Just bought a 1982 336 Texan in 30-30.
The Texan for those not familiar is a 336 30-30 with straight grip stock with n 18 1/2 in barrel. I am not that enamored with the Texans but for the price I couldn't (didn't want to) resist.
I did get the Idea to swop stock. I switched out the lower tang and but stock as.
I was concerned about the fore stocks. The Texan for stock is "considered" to be skinny, more like a Winchester fore stock. Comparing the two I found the dementions were the same only slight finishings were different.
I have a 33A 35rem with its 24 inch barrel and was thinking about selling the 20 inch but the straight stock makes it a completely different rifle. Still need to put the front sights back on the 35rem.
The 18.5 inch barreled carbine will be fixed up for my DIL.
