The little Model 60 is a known good performer, but has never turned my crank in the looks department.
That just changed...

...might have to try to get my hands on one.

I've heard they're good shooters...with that checkered walnut stock and stainless on the one above, it looks good now too.

They are good shooters. Have had a couple and a friend shoots one.

The M-60 is a 'sleeper' in the .22 world - and excellent shooters.
They can be found used in the $100 range and are one of the best deals going.
The lack of a box mag is what keeps the price down.

60's don't have the aftermarket parts the 10/22 has.
Mostly because they don't need it.

My first firearm was the Glenfield version of the M/60. Great shooter that dispatched many gophers in it’s day.
Funny story:
As a 16 year old kid living temporarily in NE North Dakota I walked into a small town Coast to Coast store alone and bought the rifle. No paperwork. This was in 1973, definitely after the 68 Gun Control Act.

I finally bought one last year, it's an '09.
Sadly I haven't put many rounds through it.
I recently, Mon. before Christmas picked up a decent Marlin 89c.
A semi auto built from '48 to '61, mine is either a '58 or '59.
So maybe I can get them out together some time soon.
Haven't really put many rounds through it either , but what I have.
I'm impressed.

I probably have close to 2000 rounds through my model 60. The only issue I ever had is when it gets dirty it starts to jam. Clean and go, no other issues. Fun shooter.
