Set up the CZ Varmint today

I scoped the CZ 452 Varmint 17 Mach 2 today for squirrel hunting. Put a Burris Full Field II 3-9X scope on it. Worked the trigger for a 10 oz. pull like my other 452's pull weight. Also found 4 boxes of ammo local for it. Ammo seems easy to get now at most gun shops. Maybe get to sight it in tomorrow if it doesn't dump the rain down they are calling for. Hope to hit the woods Monday or Tuesday. This rifle is a little on the heavy side and the Burris scope is heavy for a 3-9. I also found a perfect fitting trigger shoe in my stash for on it. Squirrels were on the move a little this afternoon. My wife and I saw six along the high way in a fairly short stretch. Maybe have squirrel gravy next week. ;) :D

Nice rig! I have the CZ527 in .17 Hornet and it is an excellent shooter. The set trigger on it takes some getting used to, though. I put a cheap TruGlo 6-24x scope on it, works fine for my use. CZ makes an excellent firearm. No doubt the squirrel population takes a hit with your setup! Enjoy!

That should make a very lethal squirrel rig. I've had a 17 HM2 barrel on a Contender and really liked the little 17. Funny how its big brother, the HMR took off like a rocket in popularity, but the HM2 was a lot slower. Have read on other forums that the 17 HM2 has become a favorite with some squirrel hunters. For sure, love to hear what you think.
