Been acquiring a few Winchesters lately and for me this one kind of completes my collection. Once I got into it it was pretty easy to see when it came to the pistol caliber rifles it just wouldn't be complete without a 1892. Since it was my understanding the 1892 was a bit harder to take apart I started looking for one in a TakeDown Version. Thing was I also wanted one in 357 which was even harder to find. Heck I didn't even know in the beginning that they made a lever gun in a takedown version.


Anyway here it is.







From the Henry Rifle to the 1892 I have yet to find one that doesn't appeal to me yet.

I got a couple rifles that break in half!

Beautiful. All of them. Love that short little takedown....the wood will really come to life on that one with some careful polishing and a bit of wax. Congrats on finding one.

I got some Renaissance wax just the other day. Plan on using it as soon as I get the chance.

The last one is a replica of the first in the history of the Winchester Pistol Caliber Lever Guns. In actuallity the Company was called the New Haven Arms Company at the time which later became Winchester and the rifle was the Henry Rifle.

This particular replica was made by Henry Repeating Arms which is no relation to any of those companies and it's called The New Original Henry.

I know it gets high reviews I just want to make sure I don't waste any because I have a good number of guns to use it on.

I got to handle one of these yesterday. My Browning/Winchester guy has one on the shelf. I can see that it is small in your pictures, but holding it in my hands gives a whole other perspective...this thing is tiny...like Browning BL-22 Micro Midas tiny. I really like it. The wood wasn't quite as fancy as yours though. If I didn't already have a couple of .357s, I'd be pretty tempted.

It is small but the rear stock makes all of the diffrence in my opinion. I think if given the option I would still go with a longer gun (I like longer ridles) in the breakdown configuration but the rear stock being as long as it is makes it a very nice gun to handle.
