So it looks like Remington is unable to meet it's financial obligations and will most likely go bankrupt, hopefully not a Chapter 7.

If they can find new investors they wil restructure. Another possibility is that the company is sold to someone who cares about making great guns so that Marlin will remain with us.

Yep it’s unfortunate but the ‘writing is on the wall’. They reported a 27% loss last year and the prospects for financial help aren’t too promising and Sandy Hook plays into this as well. Unfortunately the ‘demographics’ for Remington products simply aren’t there and we don’t even want to discuss quality. Hey it happened to Winchester.

I'm not a fan of Remington made Marlin lever guns, but it will be a real blow to those of us who love lever guns to lose another source for our guns. Hope it doesn't come to that.

Freedom Group strikes again. Seems the only thing they do well is closing the doors on gun companies.

I saw a batch of six remlins in a shop here recently that were atrocious. The foregrips were split along their entire length and fell apart on unboxing and two of them had no rifling at all, really shocking. Needless to say they were sent back and order cancelled. It is very sad to see such a great name destroyed. I treasure my old 39 and will never part with it.

You literally saw smoothbores on the two? If this is in fact the case then it's worse than originally thought.

The last time I went in to look at a Remington 700 BDL, I was told that I would be better off to fine an older one instead of buying a new one. I have a Remington that is a fine shooting rifle but it was made in the 80's.

I wonder if any of the rest of you saw this Remington is filing chapter 11 bankruptcy. My immediate thoughts were there lousy customer service and some of there products lately have been not up to what many people would accept. AL
