I just saw this mentioned on another site.
https://rossiusa.com/rifles/lever-actio ... -444marlin

Now, I may just have to try one of these out. ;)

Paul, I have two Marlins in this caliber,
Yes, it's a hammer.
I like this as it has a 1:12 twist which should be a fine cast bollit candidate.

I've handled a couple of their 30-30 rifles and they "seemed" to be well built.
There's a member here jstanfield that has one of the 45-70's and he likes his quite well.
A few members over on MO that have purchased both 30-30 and 45-70's that are quite satisfied.
I have a pair of the older Puma Rossi M92's that shoot well and have had no issues with.
Marlin (may) eventually reintroduce the 444, but if like their new 30-30 and 45-70's will run near double what I suspect these will sell for.
In fact in just looking on GB there are a couple listed and one has a buy it now price of $889.

As a long time fan of the 444, that is great news. Hope it brings back the 444 in popularity. it really should be more popular.

I'm still debating about buying that Ruger Marlin 1894 in 357, though. Just so hard to beat a 357 lever gun for fun.

I love my Henry 357 Carbine, with the octagon barrel, solid weight, there is hardly any recoil. Miss T loves to shoot it as well.
You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.

I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.

Always wondered why Henry never produced a 444, they brought back two other much older calibers. Why not the mighty 444?
