New Ruger Marlins

Post by BigAl52 » Wed Dec 20, 2023 10:09 am

I was at a gun show here in Texas. I really went to have a chance to see the new Ruger Marlins. They are really well dome and look way nice. The checkering is really well done and the action on the one I was allowed to handle was really smooth. I did see one in 357 and 44 mag. The 357 had the shorter 16 inch barrel but they do also make the 357 in an 18 inch barrel length. Price on the ones I was looking at was 1076.00. According to some online research they are supposed to be coming out in some other calibers. If 41 mag is one I know I will be buying one.

I haven't seen any but was hoping they were going to keep up the Ruger quality for the Marlin brand. Thanks for the information.

Good info Al, thanks. I haven't seen any of the new 1894s, but like you,"if" they produce one in 41 I'll have to have one. ;)
The 18" version would be the one I'd prefer. When I bought my Henry 41, an "early" production one like you do.
They said they weren't going to make it with the 16", but later did. I would have waited.

Where did you see that the 1894 will be offered with 16” barrel? The website indicates only walnut/ blue in 18.6”.

I want a .357 Mag carbine in stainless and grey laminate, like the current Trapper rifles. Any rumors about that? Actually, I want one in .327 Federal Mag, as a companion to my SP101, but my hopes are way WAY low for that variant. Thanks.

Henry "was" making a 327, has it been discontinued?
But can understand you wanting a 1894, they a much better looking rifle to me.

Didnt see it online anywhere but I did see one at the gun show in a 16 inch barrel. Checked with the gentleman that had it for sale. I might also add that the 44 mag has a 20 inch barrel.

Henry has been ignoring my requests for a steel side gate .41 so even though I'm a loyal Henry fan I'd jump ship in a heartbeat if Ruglin chambers their 1894 in .41 mag.

I'd love to see one of the new Ruger made Marlins. No sign of them up here in our local shops at this point. Not so much interested in buying one; just like to see how it compares to the originals. I expect great things from Ruger, though.

As a newbie to the 41 mag via my old Ruger Blackhawk in 41 mag, I'd love to see more guns ion 41 mag or just more interest in the 41 mag, period. Still rounding up 41 mag ammo at this point.

Sane for the 327 mag. With you on that one, John. Great cartridge.

I'm in your boat NCG. I haven't seen a new Ruger made Marlin either. I like Al's description, but don't think I'd venture away from Henry at this time.
As for the .41 magnum, I have two boxes of shells, but nothing to put them in. I've been looking at a pristine nickel plated model 58 at a store. It's been there a year so far. It's out of my price reach for now.
