Just picked it up today so I have a bad ass companion for my Henry.

I don't own that particular model but I do have a dedicated .22lr upper on an AR lower setup. It's great fun and cheaper to shoot than .223

That was the main reason plus I hopefully can share ammo with my Henry.

Lastly, the indoor range I frequent, (where I bought it) will allow them both to be shot indoors.

Sweet! I have been mighty tempted by that one.
But I am leaning hard toward a AR15 in 5.56/.223 because I miss the good old days when I shot the M16.
I do look forward to hearing more about your new Smith. Who knows, you might convince me that I need one.

A friend of mine purchased one of those Smiths. He said it was well made and fun to shoot. I hope you enjoy yours.

Yeah I've heard nothing but good things too. I went with a CMMG 22lr upper because it can go on any AR lower (and I can always use the AR lower with a standard AR upper assembly). The S&W route is much less expensive though so I do recommend it.

As an optics suggestion, if you aren't planning on adding magnification I recommend the Vortex Strikefire red dot. These things are inexpensive but very high quality and carry the Vortex warranty.

I have the pictures on my camera phone/phone camera (whatever) which actually works for calls and texting, too, and will get them posted tomorrow. Just got home from the casino and should get some shut eye. IT work for a credit union keeps one hopping.

Beautiful rifle. Just like my buddies. He really enjoys shooting it.

I prefer my Henry .22s, but that is just me. I like my .22 lr revolvers over the autos too.

Having said that, I'd get one of those in a NY minute if I could. Thanks for showing us yours.

You are more than welcome. I enjoy staring at them and snapping pics let alone taking them out and putting them through their paces. I hope to get some range time in this weekend.

Ordered from their site last night only to find out they are out of stock until sometime in December.

Reordered through Amazon and should be here next week. May need help getting it to work correctly.

It's a great optic! Easy to zero and the option to use a red or green dot. Place the dot over what you'd like to 'destroy' and press the trigger!

Just a thought or question, perhaps, but how would it work on a Henry?

I think a red dot would work well if there was a way to attach a pic. rail to the receiver. It would look a little ridiculous though. The clash of old and new.

I have a holographic red dot on my .357 BB steel. It does look a tad out of place, but works extremely well. A lot of red dots are designed to mount to a standard Weaver rail. I briefly tried the red dot on my H001 by putting an inexpensive rimfire rail to Weaver rail adapter.

I can see in theory how they would work well. Red dots typically don't have magnification and I typically shoot my Henry in ranges where magnification isn't necessary. Especially with rimfire.
