This is the 1st rifle I had as a kid. The old girl put the fear of many a Blacktails in the Humboldt/Trinity county mountains in CA. I gave it to my youngest Boy a couple of years ago. He's taking good care of it. It's a Winchester model 1894. The receiver was built in 1906, it got a new barrel in 63. The stock is from a Winchester model 1892. My late Father got it from a guy named Lance L that was on my Dad's Survey crew. I got to know Lance and his wife while growing up.
Anyway, here she is.

Looks good to me, but the question.
How does it shoot?

I have a 94 that was my Grandfather's, I should say I used to have it as my son has it now. It is nice to pass these old gun down. A lot of history in some of the old guns.

The Winchesters just carry so well, I have 3.
Two 1894's, one is a mid 60's the other is an early AE, and both in 30-30.
The oldest is a 1892 from 1912 or 13, and is a 25-20.

I have my grandfather's Model 94 .... its blue is worn to the metal on the receiver in front of the trigger where he carried it ... with it he took many more black bear than I'll ever see; as well as, good number of white tails .... with its OEM iron sights, at a hundred yards, when I miss its my fault

Hey Jim it usually is our fault when we miss.
Either we didn't properly sight it in or we just miss.
That's been my experience anyway.
