Re: Things that make you go Hmmmmmm
Although the Springfield M6 makes sense to me. 410 and 22 go together. That little .223 pistol is just crazy. Take a cartridge that produces 3000 fps and cut it down to 1400. If the bullet don't get you the muzzle flash will.

Thanks Paul, it's old, but in great condition. As you can tell, it's the composite stock. Didn't realize till after I took the pics that there was some mildew in the checkering. I have since taken the Balistol to it and it looks great.Headhog wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 5:25 pmThat's a combination that makes sense to me. Pretty sure they were designed as a paratrooper survival weapon. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: Things that make you go Hmmmmmm
Yes, originally designed as a survival gun for the Air Force. The military version had 14" barrels, and was chambered in .22 Hornet over .410. The civilian model had 18" barrels, and was usually chambered in .22 LR (or WMR) over .410. They came either parkerized, or in stainless. The one I have was built by CZ, and imported by Springfield.BrokenolMarine wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 9:17 amThat's what I remembered. Designed for Air Force crews IIRC.

It was designed to be able to be fired even while wearing a pair of mittens.

I have one of those Stevens. 22 LR over .410 - 3” chamber. On the barrel it’s stamped “Patent Pending”. It has the side selector as well. I still have the composite stock and forearm but I got a maple blank and cut a new stock - and cut a maple forearm. My Grandpa gave it to me on the condition i’d use it to hunt. It is a dandy rabbit/squirrel gun. It’s already in my son’s safe - where it now belongs.markiver54 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 3:04 pmI realy like my old Stevens 410/22. It was my late FIL's.
