I'm glad that that's their goal. I was wondering if they would bring back the 39a and maybe then 39m in the future.

I'd be very surprised if Ruger tackles the 39. It's the Marlin model that requires the most hand fitting to mate the two halves of the receiver. If you've ever taken down a 39, you'll notice that one half of the receiver is etched with part of the serial number after being fitted. It's this time consuming and labor intensive hand fitting that gave Remington fits with the 39. That's why they had to eventually offer it only through the Custom shop at an insane price.

On the other hand, the 336/1895 action is much more modern, requiring the least hand fitting of all the Marlin lever guns. Really is an amazing action. Not surprised Ruger started with this one.
