Harrington and Richards 865 Plainsman

Post by Shakey Jake » Sun Sep 05, 2021 9:37 pm

I just won the auction on this rifle. Don't know if it's a bad deal, good deal, or an excellent deal. Anyway I thought it was an attractive piece and quite frankly didn't think my bid would win the auction. I'll let y'all know how it shoots once it gets in. Here's a pic and a link to the auction. Hmm, seems that the picture got "squished" but you'll get the idea. Has a 24" barrel and a 13.5" LOP.

Nice looking rifle with classic lines. I like the bolt handle, it’s a nice size for the rifle.

Let us know how it shoots Jake. I did a google search on it. Seems some guys had issues with the magazine and the spring release.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Congrats. Thats a fine looking rifle. Should be fun either plinking of putting holes in paper. Looking forward to a range report.

Looks nice and it looks like a shooter. Really like that old scope. Have fun with it Jake.
