Smith and Wesson Levergun
Re: Smith and Wesson Levergun
I do like Smith and Wesson. But, $3,500 is a bit much. It makes the new Marlins seem like a deal. If I had to choose, I think that I would look at a Henry.

To me a lever gun with that high end walnut just looks weird with a threaded barrel, picatinny rail, & those dopey looking sights.Vaquero wrote: ↑Mon Jan 22, 2024 3:08 pmJEBar wrote: ↑Mon Jan 22, 2024 2:54 pmGunnyGene wrote: ↑Mon Jan 22, 2024 11:31 am$3499 for the European Walnut limited edition.

Re: Smith and Wesson Levergun
Okay, I understand the marketing behind these tactical/self-defense lever guns as an option where semi-autos might be a problem. Yes, fast repeat shots, faster than a bolt gun. If that's the idea, though, then why aren't we seeing more "tactical" or "all weather" pump action rifles? Pumps are faster to operate, plus less sight disruption. Think about it. Pumps have been used in the shotgun world for bird hunting since day one, but lever guns never caught on for bird hunting because they were slower and more awkward to use. Pumps in various forms are still used for law enforcement and the military, but you sure won't find lever guns. Those disappeared in the military and law enforcement many generations, ago.
Just wondering.

Ohhh, Cadillac or Rolls Royce!? I guess I'm just a Chevy guy. Winchesters, Marlins and Henry's.

Hey NCG, I have a Savage M170 pump-action in 35 Rem.
Very easy to get back on target with, but with the 35,
it just hasn't ever been a necessity.
Hey Tom, you and I both buddy.
In fact I own 3 Chevy's, 3 Winchesters and 3 Henrys and quite a few Marlins.

To me the walnut version of this gun has no use. Its just a show piece. But the syn stock one does and its not near that much The smith sight shows 1299.00 I believe. Thats right in the game.

Pretty nice furniture though. But also well beyond my spending cap.
