Rossi Puma ss carbine in .480 Ruger

I really lusted after this when they first came out. MSRP was about $600 in 2007. They only made 100 in various configurations. Jeff Quinn reviewed one, the front sight was badly clocked😳. Maybe that was what gave me pause. I already had a Super RedHawk and all the reloading stuff for it. That is quite a hole….

I always admired the 480 Ruger, but passed up several chances to buy one of the Ruger 480s, since I was getting out of reloading at the time. And the 480 is definitely a reloader's cartridge. Factory ammo can be hard to find and it's always expensive. Had the 480 been introduced back in the 70s and 80s when handgun hunting was very popular, I think it would have been much more successful.

I passed on a Rossi in 454, but I'd love to pick one up now that I have my 45 colts. RIP Jeff; I spent many hours reading his reviews prior to the guntubers really coming into their own.
