Here's an interesting story of a bear attack being stopped by a .45 colt yellow-boy last month.
I especially like the part about his wife now blowing a kiss to the rifle each night before the couple goes to bed.

I'd say he was pretty dang lucky .... the old hindsight being 20-20 comes to mind .... a .45 Long Colt is a very capable caliber but having hunted black bears, I'd want something a bit stronger
