Ruger Gunsite magazine question

Post by Hatchdog » Tue Dec 01, 2020 9:08 am

Any Ruger Gunsite Scout shooters or informed folks out there.

The Ruger Gunsight Scout rifle uses a proprietary magazine which I believe is the AICS pattern (?).

My questions are

1. Will AICS factory mags work in the Gunsite rifle? (Specifically for the 5.56)
2. If so, will the Mag Pul AICS mags work in the Gunsight?

Thank you.

I bought two Ruger branded AICS poly mags for the Gunsite. I don’t know if they are a Magpul product or not but I sure like the profile of them. Much shorter but the same capacity as the mag that comes with the rifle. So here I sit with two mags, a scout scope and lots of ammo but no rifle. (It’s on layaway at my LGS and I will be picking it up the first of February) Talk about all dressed up but nowhere to go. :o

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......
