Marlin 25-20 for sale here locally

Post by Hatchdog » Wed Dec 11, 2024 11:57 am

A for sale post showed up on our local gun trader site for a Marlin 1894 Classic in 25-20. He wants $1200.00 for it or a trade for a Mini 14. I sold my mini this past summer, sure wish I still had it as it would be offered up for trade today. I’ll have to do some research on this rifle but it sure would be fun to work up a load for it. I’ve never shot a 25-20 and would be a fun adventure. Not wanting to spend the cash right now so I’m stupidly going to pass.

Mighty fine little caliber, I have an old Winchester chambered in it.
I'm watching a couple of those on gb right now.

Well, I guess one slipped by me as it's gone now.
But there is one other that is listed at $1395.

Not sure what his intentions are but if anybody is interested I’ll be happy to put you in touch. We texted yesterday so I have his phone number. He’s a local Spokane guy. I floated a couple of possible trades past him yesterday but not what he was looking for.

I did a search for brass and couldn’t find any in stock at the big online suppliers. Saw that factory ammo is north of $100 a box. Yikes. I asked the seller of he had any brass (nope) but he does have some ammo available. I’m not sure what the medallion in the stock is, maybe a Ducks Unlimited???? I see Marlin only made these for five years 1988 - 1993. His looks to be and he says it’s in excellent condition.

Like the seller said, a fun rifle that’s expensive to shoot unless you reload.
