Will the pump slam fire. Meaning will it continue to fire if you hold the trigger.

Not sure which you are referring to, however, if it does, then it's illegal.

Older models that were designed to do that will. Ithaca, Winchester, and a few others. These are usually referred to as "riot guns" or "trench guns". Newer models (after mid '70s) won't "slam fire" since the lawyer's got into the act and newer pump guns have a disconnector that prevents that. I had an Ithaca Model 37 in VN that did not have a disconnector.

On the Henry 22 pump...hold the trigger back and rack the action and the hammer does fall. Now will it fire a round? Maybe an answer this weekend!

Nope...no fun there...will not fire a round by holding trigger and cycling the pump action. Just tried it in my garage air rifle area using CCI Quiets.
So much for that!

Ya' know I'd never given any thought to that till you mentioned this. But I'm guessing it's classed as a NFA because of this (the bolded phrase). Is that what you were talking about?
https://www.atf.gov/firearms/qa/shotgun ... ubject-nfa

The NFA defines shotgun, in part, as a weapon designed or redesigned, made or remade, and intended to be fired from the shoulder and designed or redesigned and made or remade to use the energy of the explosive in a fixed shotgun shell to fire through a smooth bore either a number of projectiles (ball shot) or a single projectile for each pull of the trigger.

A shotgun is a firearm subject to the NFA if the shotgun has a barrel or barrels of less than 18 inches in length. A weapon made from a shotgun is also a firearm subject to the NFA if the weapon as modified has an overall length of less than 26 inches or a barrel or barrels of less than 18 inches in length.
