I really want one of the Henry 22lr pump rifles. Years ago I could have ordered one but instead I ordered a Remington pump and was very disappointed with it and sold it off very soon. The quality on the Remington was not very good and some of the parts on it appeared to have been produced in some one's basement.

I have one and am very happy with it. The action is very stiff when you first use the rifle but it does smooth out after being shot and cycled many times. That said it will most likely never be as easy to pump as a Winchester 61 but I like it better because of the exposed hammer so that I can take the tension off of the main spring without dry firing the rifle . I try to never dry fire any rim fire rifle. Make sure that you keep your thumb out of the way of the bolt when you open the action.

Had an older Remington 121 but sold it recently. It was ok but did not trust it with anything but standard velocity ammo. I do own a Henry pump 22 and I am very pleased with it. As Travlin mentioned it is a bit stiff but expect it to loosen up with use. It is quite accurate and I enjoy shooting it. You should get one.

Mine was very stiff at first but now I would say it’s about right.

I'm a bit late to the thread but I picked up one in November and have had a couple of chances to shoot it. It looks good and appears to be well made and it is a lot of fun.

When was growing up my brothers and I were handed down my fathers 121 and we put a bazillion rounds through it. So I decided to purchase a pump .22 and because I liked the quality of my lever actions I decided to purchase a Henry. I am so pleased, this pump is a nail driver and very dependable.

Congrats BRM the more you shoot it the more you will like it. I just hope 22 ammo comes back again. I have a pretty good supply not not as much as I will have when it returns. I have a red dot on mine like that alot.

I think cause I have several that I put the Gen 1 Vortex Sparc on it. But the last red dot I bought was a Vortex Sparc Gen II. The 2 runs on one triple A battery. It also has a 2MOA dot. Its more expensive. You can get a Bushel TRS -25 which is a 4 MOA dot and a good one for the money. I also have a Sig Romeo 5. My favorite of all the ones I have is the Gen II Vortex. Hope that helps.
