I like the stripped receiver, and it goes right well with the Ruger.
I've never played with a pump action 22, I have a couple pump scatter guns and a Savage PA rifle chambered in 35 Rem.
I did a similar thing to the H001 that I have, except
I tarnish mine a bit, I reinstalled it and just fondled it and shot it a few times, over the period of a month or so.
Never wiping the receiver then I took it off and sprayed it with some clear coat.
Gave it a nice antique patina look, oh, I also did the barrel band.
