there simply wasn't much motivation to do so .... prior to leaving on our current trip I concentrated on coming up with a load for our Redhawk that would reduce arthritic pain from the recoil .... the same hunting level load that I've used since the mid '60's is fun to fire in our Henry and I have over a thousand of them on hand .... brought 500 of each load with us .... have a range trip on tap in a week and will most like run a few through

If you were to buy some 200 Grain 45 LC's which brand do you all like?

I was looking at some HSM's online.

can't speak to 45LC but I can say from experience, HSM's 45-70 Cowboy Action and Dangerous Game loads are outstanding ..... two different worlds of power but both are solid performers

Seems to me I read where you are retired so what are you waiting for shoot that in the rifle
I’m 90% retired but work a little because I live my work and clients. Been working 52 years and just can’t make a sudden stop.

We had a lot of rain but did get out and run a req rounds through. The range gets pretty muddy when we have hard rain like we’ve had. But I’ll take rain and 65 degrees over snow and 30 degrees.

No question both my Blackhawk and Henry and I perform our best with the 200 gn with 231/HP38. Still experimenting though.

Ive used alot of 231 in the past but not to much in the Colt. Using Unique,HS-6, and Universal. But experimenting is part of the fun.
