Music stuff

Post by RanchRoper » Sun Jan 13, 2019 9:07 pm

Just spent the last couple of hours practicing my bass & guitar. I only have a few guitars left now, but these are the 2 I play the most. Usually a few times a week. I'll put on a playlist and play along. 50's, 60's, 70's or whatever. Anything from Rockabilly to Beatles to Yes to Metallica to Willie Nelson to ??? I like it all. I miss playing in my band years ago...played bass for 50's and 60's cover band. Lots of Buddy Holly, Beatles, Stones, CCR. Even some Elvis. Played bars mostly.

These are both Epiphones. Both are real sweet to play.

Little know fact, here, but I am a retired semi-professional harmonica player. Played for over forty years in every kind of band there is as far as music (every genre and I do mean every genre) lots of studio gigs, recordings with various bands, used to give lessons and so on. Have had the honor of jamming on stage with some of the blues greats, Buddy Guy, Magic Slim and so on. Used to provide some nice cash on a part time basis when I could find the time.

All behind me, now, other than getting together a few times a year with other former pro music friends, just for fun. Still play on my own, every day, though, strictly for the love of it. Never was about the money, anyway

Nice guitars RR. Would love to own a Dot, nothing sounds like a hollowbody.

We get together over here every Thursday for a get together, great time.

From left, Epi LP, Dove, then Strats (USA/MIM) and the Epi Accubase.

I still have an acoustic Epi Hummingbird too. My cowboy campfire guitar.

The Dot is great. Semi hollow body. Good rockabilly guitar.

Ironically RR, was watching antique road show a couple days ago and someone had a Hummingbird that was valued pretty high! Can't remember vintage or details but it impressed the appraiser.
