I will probably strip the poly on the stock and do a Tru-oil finish and might add a Skinner peep, otherwise I'll leave the cosmetics alone.
I rubbed the stock out to a gloss finish with rottenstone and Renaissance wax and while it definitely changed the look, I am not satisfied.
I'm not much for a high gloss finish, and the factory tinted poly hides too much of the natural beauty of the wood.
So I'll most likely be spending some time on the furniture in the coming weeks

I agree about the poly. My .22 stock looked like brown plastic!

Keep us posted. I’m always interested in custom Henry rimfires.

I sure will! One simple modification I did that really helped with the look (IMO) was changing the gold receiver screws out for black.
Matches the rest of the screws and gives a bit of detail.
Here's a shot of it and a couple others, before the large loop

I just ordered a H004L, because I want to try out the bigger loop lever. If it works out, I predict a couple of large loop lever center fire rifles in my future.

When I got my BBS the first thing I did was order the large loop from Henry. I then had it wrapped by my local leather shop fo $ 20.00. A couple days later I noticed there was a blueing issue on it. I contacted Henry and attached this pic,

They promptly sent me another one.

I picked up my large loop Golden Boy 1-1/2 hours ago and fired 112 rounds through it in my shooting area behind the house. It is the first large loop lever action rifle I've fired and I like it better than my lever actions with regular finger levers.

My next purchase will be a center fire lever action rifle and it will definitely be a large loop lever gun.
