I'm with bandit on using my bolt guns as single shots, either by loading them, singly, or a single shot adapter. Still, it is nice to have a dedicated single shot action, especially one in 357. Makes for a fun, easy to shoot range gun or hunting gun. Right now, my 357 single shot rifle is a Contender Carbine.

I am the same way with my levers - and bolts - single shot if on the bench and even if just informal field shooting.
With the Winchesters it's easy due to the top eject - Side ejects are a little harder but not too bad. I do it with my Henry also.

I stated yesterday that I want one. But I'm wondering about the trigger. What trigger weight are you getting? Any adjustment possible?

I have no gauge with which to give you an accurate answer. I however have read on another forum that there are springs one can change to make it alot better. The change of those springs is very easy according to the guys that have done it. But I want to shoot mine some before I pass judgement on it.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

In my limited sample of two, I find the trigger pulls to be 4.5 lbs in the 45-70, slightly more in the .243. Both are well under the weight of the rifle. I was mildly surprised they're as good as they are. I have heard of others with much higher pull weight, though. Luck of the draw, I guess.

Have you been able to shoot it yet? I am interested in getting one of these. I already have one in .223 and another H&R single shot in 45 colt.
